Missions

Here at Crown Lane Free Methodist Church, we have made a commitment to regularly support a number of Christian mission organisations, both in the United Kingdom and overseas.

Through prayer, financial giving, and personal encouragement, we seek to partner with ministries that share the love of Christ, provide practical help to those in need, and spread the gospel in a variety of settings. We are grateful for the opportunity to support the following missions and ministries:

The Christian Institute is a Christian charity that works to promote biblical values and provide

a Christian perspective on issues affecting society in the United Kingdom. Through research, publications, educational resources, public engagement, and legal support, it seeks to help Christians live out their faith confidently in everyday life. The Institute is particularly involved in matters relating to religious freedom, free speech, family life, education, and the sanctity of life, while encouraging Christians to be a positive influence in their communities and in wider society.

Project Scotland is a Free Methodist church planting and mission movement with a vision to see lives transformed by the power of God throughout Scotland. Its work focuses on establishing healthy, mission-minded churches, sharing the gospel, training Christian leaders, and supporting evangelism in local communities. Through initiatives such as Glasgow Story Church, leadership training programmes, mission teams, and community outreach projects, Project Scotland seeks to help people discover faith in Jesus Christ and to see thriving churches established in towns and cities across the nation.

Ministry to Asians in Preston is a local Christian ministry dedicated to sharing the gospel and providing pastoral support within Asian communities in and around Preston. Its work includes organising regular meetings, one-to-one Bible studies, home visits, and pastoral care, while also helping churches better understand Asian cultures, religions, and community life. Through outreach, teaching, and relationship-building, the ministry seeks to make the love of Christ known and to encourage meaningful connections between churches and people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

SportsReach is an interdenominational Christian ministry that uses sport, particularly football and netball, as a way of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with people of all ages. Through sports schools, leagues, community outreach, overseas missions, and partnerships with local churches, SportsReach seeks to build friendships, encourage positive values, and create opportunities for people to explore the Christian faith. By combining quality coaching with Christian teaching and personal encouragement, the ministry helps churches connect with their communities while demonstrating God's love through sport.

Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) is a Christian mission organisation that uses aircraft to bring help, hope, and practical support to some of the world's most remote communities. Working alongside churches, medical teams, aid agencies, and local ministries, MAF transports doctors, teachers, relief workers, medicines, supplies, and Christian workers to places that are often inaccessible by road. Through its aviation services, disaster relief operations, and support for evangelism, education, healthcare, and community development, MAF helps isolated people experience both practical care and the love of Christ.

Open Doors is an international Christian ministry that supports and strengthens Christians who face persecution because of their faith. Working in more than 70 countries, Open Doors provides Bibles, Christian literature, leadership training, practical support, emergency relief, and advocacy for believers living under pressure and discrimination. The organisation also raises awareness of religious persecution and encourages Christians around the world to pray for and stand alongside their persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ.

SASRA is a Christian charity dedicated to serving members of the British Army and Royal Air Force. Through a network of Scripture Readers based at military establishments across the United Kingdom, SASRA seeks to provide serving personnel with a practical and ongoing experience of the Christian faith by living and working alongside them in their daily environment.

Military life can bring unique pressures and challenges, including frequent moves, family separation, demanding responsibilities, and the realities of deployment. SASRA's Scripture Readers offer friendship, pastoral care, encouragement, and a listening ear to service personnel and their families. Their ministry is built on developing trusted relationships and sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ through both words and actions.

With a history stretching back more than 180 years, SASRA is one of the longest-established Christian ministries supporting the British Armed Forces. Today, Scripture Readers continue to serve in Army bases and RAF stations throughout the UK, helping personnel explore faith, grow spiritually, and find support during both challenging and rewarding times in their service careers.

At Crown Lane Free Methodist Church, we are proud to support SASRA through our prayers and financial giving. We value their commitment to bringing God's love and hope to those who serve our country, often in demanding circumstances. We pray that SASRA's Scripture Readers will continue to be a positive Christian witness and a source of encouragement to members of the Armed Forces and their families.

The Slavic Gospel Association (SGA) is a Christian mission organisation that supports and strengthens evangelical churches across Eastern Europe, the former Soviet nations, and parts of Central Asia. Its purpose is to help local believers and church leaders become fully equipped to share the Gospel and fulfil Christ's Great Commission among their own people.

Rather than sending large numbers of overseas workers, SGA focuses on partnering with and supporting national Christians who already understand the language, culture, and needs of their communities. Through leadership training, sponsorship of pastors and missionaries, Christian literature, children's camps, and practical aid, SGA helps local churches reach people with the message of Jesus Christ.

A particular emphasis of SGA's work is investing in the next generation. The organisation supports youth camps, Bible teaching programmes, and leadership training to help young people grow in their faith and prepare for future Christian service. SGA also assists churches that are serving in difficult circumstances, including areas affected by poverty, social challenges, and conflict.

Through projects such as biblical leadership training, support for women in ministry, literature distribution, and practical assistance for church workers, SGA enables local congregations to share God's love in their communities and beyond. Their ministry demonstrates the importance of equipping local believers to be effective witnesses for Christ where God has placed them.

At Crown Lane Free Methodist Church, we are pleased to support the work of SGA through prayer and financial giving. We thank God for the faithful service of the churches, pastors, evangelists, and missionaries that SGA partners with, and we pray that many more people across Eastern Europe and Central Asia will come to know the hope and salvation found in Jesus Christ.

SAT-7 is a Christian media ministry that uses satellite television and digital platforms to share the message of Jesus Christ across the Middle East and North Africa. Broadcasting programmes in Arabic, Farsi, and Turkish, SAT-7 provides biblical teaching, discipleship, encouragement, and practical support to millions of viewers, including those who may have little access to a local church. Through its faith-filled television programmes, online content, and viewer support teams, SAT-7 seeks to strengthen Christians in their faith, answer questions about Christianity, and make God's love visible throughout the region.

The Tanzania Christian Farm Development Trust (TCFDT) is a Christian charity that seeks to demonstrate God's love to the people of Tanzania through practical care, evangelism, education, and community development. Since 1993, the organisation has worked to meet both physical and spiritual needs, sharing the hope of Christ while supporting some of the most vulnerable members of society.

At the heart of TCFDT's ministry is Kazima Children's Home, which provides a safe and loving home for children who would otherwise be without family support. The children receive food, clothing, healthcare, education, and, most importantly, the opportunity to learn about God's love and grow in the Christian faith. The charity seeks to ensure that every child in its care is given the best possible foundation for a hopeful future.

Alongside the children's home, TCFDT operates Ndevelwa Farm, a 200-acre farm that serves both practical and missionary purposes. The farm helps support the work of the children's home while also providing training for local people through the principles of "Farming God's Way". This approach teaches sustainable farming methods alongside Christian values, helping communities improve their livelihoods while hearing the message of the Gospel.

TCFDT's mission is not only to provide practical assistance but also to introduce people to Jesus Christ. Through outreach, teaching, and personal example, the organisation works to share the Christian faith with local communities and encourage spiritual growth. Their vision is to see lives transformed through both the love of God and the practical support offered through their various projects.
At Crown Lane Free Methodist Church, we are pleased to support TCFDT through prayer and financial giving. We thank God for the faithful work being carried out among the children and communities of Tanzania, and we pray that the ministry will continue to bring hope, opportunity, and the message of salvation to many more people in the years ahead.
